01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Ginos in the heart of Abando, Bizkaia, stands out as a warm and welcoming Italian family restaurant, delivering an authentic taste of Southern Italy right in the bustling streets of Biscay. Whether you're seeking a cozy sit-down experience or a quick, delicious takeout, Ginos has you covered with its inviting ambiance and friendly staff that make every visit feel like a special occasion.

The cuisine at Ginos beautifully showcases classic Italian flavors, with particular highlights from their extensive menu that are sure to delight your palate. Imagine twirling Spaghetti alla Carbonara—a luscious blend of slow-cooked pancetta, a delicately slow-poached egg, and creamy Parmigiano Reggiano—the kind that melts effortlessly in your mouth. Seafood lovers will fall for the Fettuccine Pirata, a medley of succulent langoustines swirled in a smooth, subtly spicy tomato cream sauce that balances richness and zest with every bite.

For those with gluten sensitivities, Ginos takes care with options like the Spaghetti Panna e Prosciutto Sin Gluten, combining creamy textures and the smoky bite of ham in a dish that doesn’t compromise on taste. And dessert lovers should not miss the decadent Cioccolatissimo Sin Gluten, a chocolate lover’s dream: a moist chocolate cake oozing with warm chocolate filling, paired beautifully with velvety vanilla ice cream.

The restaurant’s dedication to quality extends to their beverage selection, from sparkling Moscato made with 100% Moscatel grapes in Piemonte, to the refreshing variety of soft drinks and bottled beers that perfectly complement the meal. Whether you choose a lively Alhambra Reserva 1925 or a crisp San Pellegrino bottle of sparkling water, every sip enhances the dining experience.

Dining at Ginos feels like a family affair—casual yet vibrant, supported by attentive, friendly staff who genuinely care about your experience. Many guests rave about the small touches, like the perfectly marinated olives that start your meal, and the generous portion sizes that leave no one hungry. It’s no wonder returning diners describe the food as “divinely delicious” and the atmosphere as refreshed with warmth and joy.

Ginos is also a fantastic spot for pizza aficionados, offering takeaway and pizza delivery options. Their pizzas are known for their fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced flavors; they're so good that customers recommend joining their VIP club to enjoy exclusive deals and up to 50% discounts—perfect for pizza night with family or friends.

In summary, Ginos is a genuine slice of Italy in Bizkaia, combining heartfelt hospitality with thoughtfully crafted dishes that celebrate Italian culinary traditions. Whether it’s a lively dinner with the family, a quick flavorful lunch, or a quiet night in with pizza delivery, Ginos promises an experience where each bite resonates with careful preparation and passion. This is a place that not only feeds your hunger but also nourishes your love for true Italian cuisine.

It is very strange why such a low rating? We were there twice and twice it was divinely delicious. Even the olives that are brought in at the beginning are stunningly delicious! And smoked sardines, both separately and with salad, are just great! Also, chicken with potatoes and vegetables is such a simple and delicious dish! My husband took it twice and is delighted!

We decided to give this place a try after a few times of passing by, and it was a good finding. The food was tasty, primero was exceptionally good! Pizza in menu del dia was as huge as a solo dish! Fortunately, para llevar was an option here. Menu del dia at a very reasonable price. We are adding this place to our lunch list.

On the way back from Molly's we stopped in here for a bite to eat and we were not disappointed. We had the fondue to start and some bacon and cheese bread (€10 and €3), which was delicious. For a main I had the sea food spaghetti (€12) and a large glass of white (€2.50), again both were delicious. For desert I had a fruit sundae (€5) which was also lovely. The service was great and the atmosphere was welcoming.

Great for a quiet dinner for two. Our waitress was polite, friendly and engaging. We had Palidine for a starter which was great. Bit like croquettas but made with a crisp tortilla. Diavola pizza was huge and very tasty. Lasagne was also very good
